GE Healthcare has introduced AdvantageSIM MD, a radiotherapy software package that combines its Advantage 4D and Advantage SIM technology.
AdvantageSIM MD integrates 4D data into the planning process, and provides multimodality/multiphase simulation for the optimal use of treatment methods, according to the Chalfont St. Giles, U.K.-based firm.
In other GE radiation therapy developments, the firm said that the University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston has completed over 400 courses of radiation therapy with plans based on GE's Advantage 4DCT scanning technology. The institution installed the technology one and a half years ago.
