BrachySciences to sell TargetScan system

Prostate brachytherapy implant developer BrachySciences of Oxford, CT, has signed a deal covering North American distribution of the TargetScan system from Envisioneering Medical Technologies of St. Louis.

U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico. TargetScan uses 3D imaging and stationary probe design to improve brachytherapy treatment outcomes via more precise radioactive seed placements, according to the companies.

TargetScan uses a stationary probe to eliminate prostate movement during treatments and reduce procedure times. The device also offers 3D imaging with views of both sagittal and transverse planes to ensure that the brachytherapy radioactive seed implants are accurately placed at physicians' preplanned targets.
