Radiation therapy developer TomoTherapy of Madison, WI, has debuted its CTrue imaging technology for use with the company's radiation therapy platform, TomoTherapy Hi-Art System.
The CTrue technology allows everyday image guidance for the delivery of intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT). With every treatment fraction, doctors can calculate dose on daily CTrue images. Patient dose adjustments can be done with the system's Planned Adaptive software. With the system's multileaf collimator (MLC), designed for IMRT, the dose delivered on a Hi-Art system is less than the leakage or scatter dose from most IMRT systems during a normal treatment, according to TomoTherapy.
