Radiation therapy firm Varian Medical Systems and image-guided therapy firm BrainLab are building on their long-term partnership.
The firms are now incorporating Varian's Novalis technology and other Novalis radiosurgery program elements with the recently launched TrueBeam STx radiosurgery system. The expanded suite of products will have the product labeling of "Novalis powered by TrueBeam STx" and will offer radiosurgical and image-guidance capabilities, according to Varian of Palo Alto, CA, and BrainLab of Munich, Germany.
Novalis powered by TrueBeam STx will include BrainLab's iPlan treatment planning and ExacTrac room-based x-ray imaging technology with Varian's HD120 MLC multileaf collimator for high-resolution beam shaping, the companies said.
