Radiation therapy firm Accuray of Sunnyvale, CA, reported lower revenues but increased net income in its 2010 fiscal year (end-June 30).
For fiscal 2010, total revenue decreased to $221.6 million, down 5% compared to $233.6 million in its 2009 fiscal year. Net income rose to $2.8 million, compared with net income of $609,000 in the last fiscal year.
In the fourth quarter of fiscal 2010, total revenue increased by 5% to $61.8 million, compared with $58.8 million in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2009. Net income advanced to $5 million, compared with net income of $1.2 million in the same quarter of fiscal 2009.
During the fourth quarter of fiscal 2010, Accuray added 16 orders for its CyberKnife robotic radiosurgery systems, worth a total of $74 million, to the company's backlog.
Total backlog at the end of the fourth fiscal quarter was $374 million, with approximately $132 million associated with CyberKnife contracts and approximately $242 million associated with services and other recurring revenue.
