Siemens Healthcare is introducing three new additions to its radiation oncology product portfolio at the annual meeting of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) and the Canadian Organization of Medical Physicists (COMP) in Vancouver, British Columbia, this week.
Siemens' new In-Line kView megavoltage conebeam CT system has been added to its Artiste line of linear accelerators for enhanced image quality and dose performance for its MVision product.
Also added to Artiste is Siemens' Multiple-X option, designed to enable users to choose up to four unflattened beams with dose rates up to 2,000 monitor units (MU) per minute for potentially greater efficacy and shortened treatment times.
Also, the Somatom Definition AS Open CT scanner is designed to provide diagnostic image quality with 20 or 64 slices, a new tool set for advanced CT simulation, and a set of dose reduction features.
