ACRIN merges with ECOG

The American College of Radiology Imaging Network (ACRIN) and the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) have combined organizations to become the ECOG-ACRIN Cancer Research Group (ECOG-ACRIN).

The clinical research alliance has merged oncology research activities into three areas:

  1. Early detection and diagnosis of cancer
  2. Biomarker-driven phase II and phase III therapeutic studies for multiple cancer types and stages
  3. Genetic, molecular, and imaging marker research to predict and monitor treatment response

Integration efforts are currently under way to develop the business, administrative, and scientific framework for ECOG-ACRIN's research portfolio through public and private support.
