Radiation therapy firm Varian Medical Systems reported gains in both revenue and net income for fiscal 2011.
For the year, the company reported revenue of $2.6 billion, up 10% compared to $2.4 billion the previous year. The company posted net income for the year of $399 million, up 10% compared to $360.4 million in 2010, the company said.
For the fourth quarter of 2011, Varian recorded revenue of $719 million, up 10% from $652 million in the corresponding quarter of 2010. The company's net income for the most recent quarter was $100.7 million, down 5% from $106 million in the same period of fiscal 2010.
