The American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) and radiation oncology firm Elekta have awarded more than $20,000 in scholarships to radiation therapy students, the two organizations announced.
Due to a contribution of $23,000 in funding and support from Elekta, four scholarships of $5,000 each have been awarded to entry-level radiation therapy students, ASRT and Elekta said. Elekta has provided $140,000 in scholarships since 2006.
Scholarship recipients submitted applications and were selected based on evidence of commitment, leadership, achievement, and financial need. To be eligible, applicants must be entry-level students enrolled in an accredited radiation therapy program.
