Caribbean Imaging and Radiation Treatment Center (CIRT) in Ponce, Puerto Rico, has acquired a Versa HD radiotherapy system from Elekta, the first to be installed in the U.S. territory, according to the firm.
Versa HD's targeting precision enables clinicians to target highly complex cancers as well as a range of tumors throughout the body, Elekta said.
The system's high-dose-rate mode and Agility beam-shaping feature will speed up treatment and enable treatment to conform more closely to tumor shape, the company said.
