ASRT, Rad-Aid unveil China program

The American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) Foundation and Rad-Aid International will offer a program for radiation therapists to teach in China.

The program will provide an opportunity for radiation therapists to travel to China to lecture at specialty conferences, teach at medical facilities, participate in equipment demonstrations, and develop case discussions.

Lectures are expected to include practice techniques, quality control, and patient safety.

A minimum of two teams with expertise in imaging for radiation therapy planning and execution will be selected annually. For each team, the ASRT Foundation will provide funding for one board-certified radiation therapist to join a radiation oncologist or radiologist sponsored by Rad-Aid International.

The foundation plans to unveil the new program at the three-day ASRT Radiation Therapy Conference in Atlanta beginning September 22.
