Eckert & Ziegler acquires brachytherapy firm

Eckert & Ziegler BEBIG, the medical device division of Eckert & Ziegler, has acquired a brachytherapy firm.

Mick Radio Nuclear Instruments of Mount Vernon, NY, generated sales of approximately $5.4 million (4 million euros) in fiscal year 2012/2013, according to Eckert & Ziegler.

The acquisition complements Eckert & Ziegler's recent purchase of the brachytherapy division of U.S. firm Biocompatibles, boosting its product portfolio in the area of prostate cancer therapy and adding a sales team for the North American market, the company said.
