Radiation oncology firm Elekta will be outfitting seven new cancer centers in Algeria with its hardware and software.
As part of a plan announced in 2013 by Algeria's Ministry of Health Population and Hospital Reform to equip or build 13 new cancer centers over the next five years, the vendor will be providing its Synergy and Versa HD linear accelerators, Mosaiq oncology information systems, treatment planning systems using Elekta's Monaco software, as well as training for clinicians. Seven cancer centers will receive Elekta equipment under the order, which is valued at around 250 million Swedish kronor (28.4 million euros).
