Digital signage firm Norvision has completed the first installation of its Skylite in-ceiling video wall. The Skylite screens were installed at a radiation therapy center in Arizona.
Skylite is designed to project calming imagery and serene videos for patients receiving radiation treatment. Patients can control images using an app running on a wireless tablet that enables them to select from a library of scenes.
Developing the video wall presented a challenge, as high-radiation environments can cause the failure of standard electronics and LCD screens. Norvision handled the problem by using building block-style MicroTiles made by Christie Digital and recessing them in the ceiling.
