Proton therapy developer Mevion Medical Systems has completed acceptance testing for its Mevion S250 proton therapy system at the University of Oklahoma.
During four weeks of testing, Mevion S250 successfully navigated a series of tests to validate technical and clinical performance requirements. The system met or exceeded all specifications, according to the company.
Operational control has now been given to the physics and radiation oncology proton teams at the Stephenson Cancer Center for the clinical commissioning phase of the project.
