Radiation oncology firm Varian Medical Systems announced it has reached a confidential settlement agreement with radiation oncology vendor Elekta to end ongoing patent litigation.
The litigation involved technology used for radiation oncology and the treatment of cancer. Varian and Elekta resolved multiyear disputes in the U.S., Germany, and the U.K., including the suit brought by Elekta AB and William Beaumont Hospital, with no payments exchanged by the plaintiffs and defendants and no future financial obligations.
The two companies have been in litigation since 2015.
