The American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) has named two recipients of its Survivor Circle grants.
Cancer Angels and the Seany Foundation, both of San Diego, will each receive an $8,500 grant to support their programs for those affected by cancer.
Cancer Angels provides rent or mortgage payments, plus a grocery gift card and gas gift card, every month for 25 to 30 San Diego County families, many of whom are headed by single mothers with stage IV cancer.
The Seany Foundation funds projects that improve the lives of children and families affected by cancer, mainly through camps designed for pediatric cancer patients and their siblings, children of cancer patients, or children who have lost a family member to cancer.
The grant winners will be recognized at ASTRO's annual meeting in San Diego in September.
