Sensus inks R&D pact with UPenn

Superficial radiation therapy provider Sensus Healthcare has signed an R&D agreement to collaborate with the radiation oncology department at the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn).

Sensus and UPenn will work together on the company's Sculptura robotic intraoperative radiation therapy (IORT) system. The university is the first facility to house the device.

Sensus received clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in February to market the IORT system, which features the company's 3D Beam Sculpting targeted technology to help doctors target exact areas of the body with the radiation beam and respiratory motion tracking.
