Radiation oncology firm Varian said that its CEO Dow Wilson will be retiring after the company's upcoming acquisition by Siemens Healthineers has been finalized. Chris Toth, Varian's current president and chief operating officer, has been tapped to take over as CEO of Siemens' new Varian business unit.

In his new role, Toth will report directly to Siemens CEO Bernd Montag, PhD. Wilson, who has been with Varian for more than 16 years, will serve as a special advisor to Siemens after his retirement.

Siemens' purchase of Varian is expected to be completed in the first half of 2021.
