MIM Software will install its SureCalc MonteCarlo software at Stanford University, to be used for second checks of radiation therapy plans for Accuray CyberKnife systems.
Monte Carlo simulation-based validation prevents systematic discrepancies in CyberKnife dose calculation while reducing dependence on manual quality assurance, the company said. Institution-specific beam models derived from validated base data can be used in the SureCalc MonteCarlo program for planning second-check accuracy, MIM said.
