The American Urological Association (AUA) and the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) have released their 2022 clinical practice guideline for the management of clinically localized prostate cancer.
The guideline features 44 statements, including discussions regarding appropriate staging and risk assessment for a newly diagnosed patient, as well as risk-based treatment approaches and recommendations for post-treatment follow-up, according to the associations.
The Society of Urologic Oncology has endorsed the guideline, which can be found on the AUA's website. Representatives from the American Society of Clinical Oncology also participated in the development of the guidelines.
