Radiation therapy firm Advanced Radiation Therapy (ART) entered into a technology transfer deal with Best Medical Technology (BMT) to offer its AccuBoost image-guided partial-breast irradiation system in China.
In the first phase of the venture, ART and BMT will install a complete turnkey AccuBoost equipment package at Hainan Boao Evergrande International Hospital in Hainan Province, according to an ART representative. BMT and hospital personnel will be trained on the use of the equipment and the processes for delivering patient treatment. The site will be operated by BMT in cooperation with the hospital.
Patients will be treated using the AccuBoost system while the companies develop clinical data and related support documentation for an eventual regulatory submission, ART said.
