Healthcare equipment distribution firm Hill-Rom, a unit of Hillenbrand Industries, has obtained exclusive North American rights to SonoSite's hand-carried ultrasound system for labor and delivery and neonatal ICU use, the companies announced today.
The private-label ultrasound system is based on the SonoSite 180 platform, and is being introduced this week at the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses conference in Seattle.
Hill-Rom, based in Batesville, IN, already distributes other newborn care products, such as infant warmers, birthing beds, and incubators. It expects to have the portable ultrasound scanners from Bothell, WA-based SonoSite available for customers early in the third quarter of this year.
