Handheld ultrasound developer SonoSite, in collaboration with Tokyo-based partner Olympus Optical, said it has been cleared by Japanese Ministry of Health and Welfare to market the SonoHeart echocardiography system in Japan. The system joins the Bothell, WA-based vendor’s SonoSite 180 in the Japanese marketplace. SonoSite 180 received Japanese clearance earlier this year.
