SonoSite warns of lower revenues

Handheld ultrasound vendor SonoSite says events in Asia are likely to affect the company's revenues in the second half of the year, which the firm now believes will come in at the low end of analysts’ expectations.

SonoSite is experiencing the effects of a physicians’ strike in South Korea and a hospital market capital freeze in Taiwan, according to president and CEO Kevin Goodwin. The Bothell, WA-based firm is also lowering its projections for bundled sales opportunities, given the softness it has observed in higher-priced medical equipment markets in the U.S.
