Handheld ultrasound developer SonoSite this week reported third-quarter revenues of $8.3 million, compared with $745,000 in the third quarter of 1999, when SonoSite began shipping its first SonoSite 180 systems. For the quarter (end-September 30), the Bothell, WA-based firm had a net loss of $4.6 million, compared with a net loss of $6.3 million in the same period last year.
Looking forward, SonoSite plans to form a direct sales force in Europe, and expects to launch several new products over the next 18 months, according to president and CEO Kevin Goodwin.
