Siemens/Acuson deal clears regulatory hurdle

Siemens Medical Engineering of Erlangen, Germany, has announced the early termination of the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act waiting period for its planned acquisition of ultrasound firm Acuson. Siemens announced its intent in September to acquire the Mountain View, CA-based vendor for about $700 million.
