The American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) announced that it will award several research grants of up to $10,000 in 2001. The organization's Education and Research Fund is accepting applications until February 15, 2001, according to the AIUM.
While all areas of ultrasound research and education will be considered, funding preference will be given to projects that:
- Relate to teaching ultrasound or physician education.
- Are well designed clinical projects that can be completed within a year.
- Investigate clinical outcomes and new ultrasound applications.
- Advance the science of ultrasound.
- Deal with basic ultrasound research or the economics of ultrasound practice.
More information is available at the AIUM's Web site, or by calling 800-638-5352. Grant winners will be announced at the 45th annual AIUM conference in Orlando, FL, to be held March 11-14, 2001.
