Handheld ultrasound provider SonoSite said it will soon announce lower-than-expected fourth-quarter revenues. The Bothell, WA-based firm expects to report total gross revenue of approximately $7 million, a shortfall of roughly 22% compared with estimates of $9 million for the period (end-December 31).
The shortfall was due to projected sales increases in Europe and Asia that did not materialize, according to president and CEO Kevin Goodwin. Sales in the U.S. remained strong, growing at a 50% sequential quarterly growth rate, Goodwin said. SonoSite will announce its earnings on February 7.
