GE Medical Systems has signed an agreement with Medison to acquire 65.4% of Austrian-based 3-D ultrasound manufacturer Kretztechnik. Medison will receive 12 euros for each Kretztechnik share it owns. GE will make a tender offer of 17 euros per share to all public Kretztechnik shareholders within the next two weeks.
The transaction, which is subject to approval by regulatory authorities and other conditions, is expected to close in September 2001, according to Waukesha, WI-based GE.
