Philips completes Agilent purchase

Royal Philips Electronics, the parent firm of Philips Medical Systems, has completed its purchase of Agilent Technologies' Healthcare Solutions Group. Palo Alto, CA-based Agilent received cash proceeds of $1.6 billion today in exchange for the Andover, MA-based group. Agilent expects to receive an additional $100 million upon the satisfaction of certain post-closing conditions.
