Ultrasound industry builds ergonomics, new capabilities into design

At this month's RSNA meeting in Chicago, ultrasound vendors are introducing several new products that incorporate ergonomic principles into system design. In addition, portable systems featuring capabilities for specialized clinical applications such as cardiology, general radiology, breast, and small-parts imaging will be premiered.

While last year's consolidation has trimmed the vendor lineup, enhancements and advancements in technology, design, and applications by other developers promise to keep things lively in the ultrasound sector.
