Danish ultrasound provider B-K Medical has licensed intellectual property rights and acquired 3-D imaging technology production resources from Canadian firm Life Imaging Systems. As a result of the deal, B-K Medical, a wholly owned Analogic subsidiary, will design, develop, and manufacture its own 3-D technology products at its headquarters in suburban Copenhagen.
Life had previously sold 3-D technology to B-K Medical for use with its ultrasound systems. B-K Medical said it would use the intellectual property rights and production resources to expand its 3-D application expertise in urology and anorectal applications, as well as other specialized areas.
