The American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) will be hosting ultrasound awareness month in October. The month's activities will kick off a yearlong campaign dedicated to raising ultrasound awareness, according to the Laurel, MD-based society.
The AIUM's theme this year is "Ultrasonography -- Safe, Sound Imaging." The society said that it is encouraging healthcare professionals to promote ultrasound awareness during October and throughout the year through planned activities and educational materials.
To help, AIUM has produced a free ultrasound awareness information kit, which includes an ultrasound fact sheet, a list of suggested ideas and activities, information on how to get the media and local government involved, logos for use in promotional materials, and a brochure featuring promotional and educational items. To receive the kit, contact Stacey Wagner at [email protected].
