Ultrasound contrast developer Acusphere has hired Nancy Wetherbee as senior vice president of business development.
Wetherbee has more than 20 years of experience in the life sciences industry in business development and sales and marketing. She joins the Watertown, MA, company from pharmaceutical firm Essential Therapeutics, where she was vice president of business development. She has also worked at companies like Baxter Travenol Pharmaceuticals and Boehringer Mannheim, as well as at several emerging companies.
Acusphere said Wetherbee is expected to help the company as it seeks partners for broadening the indications and geographic distribution of AI-700, a cardiac ultrasound contrast agent that is in phase III clinical trials.
