Toshiba America Medical Systems has introduced Dyssynchrony Imaging (DI), an ultrasound technique designed to aid in the quantification of left ventricular mechanical dyssynchrony.
Available with Toshiba's Aplio CV cardiac digital ultrasound system, DI provides a color-coded display that demonstrates the timing of events within the myocardium of the heart, according to the Tustin, CA-based vendor. Early mechanical events are shown as green, with severely delayed events displayed as red.
Cardiologists can also employ Toshiba's angle-corrected technology to evaluate the synchronicity longitudinally, and can use the short-axis view to obtain radial information, according to the firm.
