GE Healthcare has donated three portable Logiq Book XP ultrasound systems to the University of Notre Dame's Haiti program and its partner hospital, Hôpital Sainte Croix in Haiti.
The ultrasound systems will be used to help detect and diagnose patients who have lymphatic filariasis (LF), according to the Chalfont St. Giles, U.K.-based GE. An estimated 28% of the Haitian population suffers from this disease.
