Paradigm Medical Industries of Salt Lake City said it has received Food and Drug Administration clearance for its P60 ultrasound biomicroscope.
The P60 UBM is a microprocessor-based multifrequency ultrasound biomicroscope that enables users to acquire and view high-resolution images of the anterior portion of the eye involved with glaucoma pathologies and surgical filtering procedures. At lower frequencies the device provides views of the retinal area, and can be used to diagnose trauma to the vitreous body.
The firm also announced the appointment of Fredrick Geiger as vice president, engineering. Geiger most recently served as director of production, product management, and engineering at Stonebridge Systems and as a member of its executive council, Paradigm said.
