Zonare Medical Systems

Zonare Medical Systems of Mountain View, CA, will introduce several new transducers for its z.one convertible ultrasound scanner at this year's meeting.

The P10-4 transducer is appropriate for neonatal, infant, and pediatric patients. An ergonomic design provides a comfortable grip for scanning through isolettes and tiny acoustic windows. The transducer supports as many as six frequencies, including harmonic imaging at 8 MHz (received), as well as two color Doppler frequencies and three B-mode frequencies.

Zonare's new P4-1 transducer was developed for small-footprint abdominal and ob/gyn sonography. The transducer uses a Hanafy lens design, which improves image uniformity by controlling the slice thickness of the ultrasound beam. A press of a button can change the transmitted frequency down to 2 MHz, and it can penetrate up to 30 cm.

The company will also show its new L7-4 vascular transducer, currently a work-in-progress. It has a lightweight ergonomic design and offers 16-cm penetration for difficult-to-image patients. The transducer has multiple frequencies, including color Doppler, harmonic, and B-mode variable frequencies.

Zonare will also add abdominal and venous calculation packages. Both new packages allow sonographers to use a protocol checklist with reports that includes organ sizes, Doppler results, and comments sections.
