Compact-ultrasound developer SonoSite has added two transducers, imaging improvements, and wireless connectivity to its MicroMaxx ultrasound system.
The MicroMaxx weighs 8 lb and is designed for both imaging lab and patient bedside applications. Additional new features include SonoRES, an algorithm that utilizes the processing capability of the system's Chip Fusion technology for real-time adaptation of speckle reduction in obstetrical, neonatal neurology, and abdominal imaging.
Existing MicroMaxx units are compatible with all the new upgrades, which will begin shipping in December, according to Bothell, WA-based SonoSite.
