Sonotech launches ultrasound gel

Sonotech has introduced UltraBio Sterile, a new sterile ultrasound scanning gel that is in vivo biocompatible and in vivo bioexcretable, according to the Bellingham, WA, company.

UltraBio Sterile is designed to replace ultrasound gels that are not in vivo biocompatible but that are used off-label by physicians in surgical procedures, biopsies, and other sterile applications. Sonotech said the product eliminates the risk of toxic reactions when gel that isn't in vivo biocompatible enters the body when a protective ultrasound probe cover breaks or is cut during surgery.
