Manufacturing conglomerate 3M of St. Paul, MN, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Siemens Medical Solutions ultrasound division's flexible circuit manufacturing line.
The Siemens business is based in Canoga Park, CA, and produces flexible interconnect circuits that provide electrical connections between components in electronics systems used primarily in ultrasound transducers. The unit will be integrated into 3M's Electronics Solutions division.
The transaction is expected to close by the end of this year, subject to customary closing conditions, 3M said. The facility employs 56 people and will remain in Canoga Park, the company said. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
