Medical device manufacturer Mindray Medical International has signed an agreement to establish a new R&D and manufacturing facility in the Nanjing Jiangning Development Zone in China.
Mindray, based in Shenzhen, China, is expected to commit $150 million (U.S.) over 3 1/2 years, with an initial first-year investment of no more than $30 million. The R&D and manufacturing facility will be operational by 2009 and is intended to expand Mindray’s presence in the Yangtze Delta region, as well as Shanghai.
Mindray currently manufactures its ultrasound systems, patient monitoring devices, and diagnostic laboratory instruments exclusively in Shenzhen.
