Ultrasound contrast developer Acusphere plans to reduce its workforce by two-thirds by April.
The Boston Globe reports that the 40 layoffs will be across all departments, including manufacturing, drug development, regulatory, and administration.
The reductions follow the loss of 24 jobs last July and 10% pay cuts for some executives.
Acusphere also will move its headquarters from Watertown, MA, to Tewksbury by next month. The company expects both the relocation and job cuts will save a total of $3.9 million.
