Ultrasound technology developer Misonix of Farmingdale, NY, has sold its ultrasound lab business for $3.5 million to iSonix.
The division makes scientific and industrial ultrasonic equipment and recorded almost $4.6 million in revenue in fiscal 2008. Misonix said it will use proceeds from the sale to pay down bank debt, increase working capital, and for other corporate purposes.
The firm said it will focus on its minimally invasive ultrasound medical device technology, which in Europe is used for the ablation of tumors and worldwide for other acute health conditions.
