GE Healthcare has introduced Logic S8, a portable general imaging ultrasound scanner.
Designed to fit easily into small exam rooms, Logic S8 can handle abdominal, musculoskeletal, breast, vascular, and cardiology applications, according to the vendor. It also has a fraction of the weight of previous-generation GE ultrasound systems, the company said.
S8 features include GE's S-Agile Ultrasound technology, which employs flexible, clinically based models of the body to deliver clear images on virtually all patient types, according to the vendor. Scan Assistant is a software program that allows system operators to customize the scanner to automatically perform frequently used functions.
GE also points to S8's ergonomic features, which aim to eliminate awkward postures and musculoskeletal stressors for sonographers. It can be adjusted easily to accommodate the stature and working style of each user, GE said.
