SonoSite CFO to leave company

The chief financial officer (CFO) of compact-ultrasound developer SonoSite is leaving the firm.

SonoSite announced that Marcus Smith will resign as senior vice president, CFO, and treasurer effective January 2, 2012, and will leave the company effective January 5. Replacing Smith will be Anil Amlani, the current president and CEO of SonoSite's VisualSonics subsidiary.

Amlani has served as CFO for public and nonpublic companies for 11 years, according to SonoSite. Most recently, he led the VisualSonics business before and after SonoSite acquired the firm in June 2010.
