Siemens Healthcare has inked a definitive agreement to acquire ultrasound technology developer Penrith of Plymouth Meeting, PA.
The deal is expected to close in September, at which point Michael Cannon, president of Penrith, will join Siemens Ultrasound as vice president and general manager for point-of-care solutions. Cannon said Penrith's portfolio and technology for the miniaturization of ultrasound devices will strengthen Siemens' ability to develop technologies and future innovations that expand and advance ultrasound's role in medicine.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
