Medipattern said that a study being presented this weekend at the Society of Radiologists in Ultrasound (SRU) annual meeting found a strong correlation between its Visualize:Vascular 3D luminal ultrasound visualization technology and MR angiography (MRA).
In a blinded study, researchers from University Diagnostic Medical Imaging in the Bronx, NY, found that 3D luminal ultrasound visualization had a correlation rate of 99% with MRA. The results were statistically significant (p < 0.05), Medipattern said.
The researchers had compared the results of ultrasound scans from 100 consecutive carotid arteries with qualifying cases that were further evaluated using MRA.
