Therapeutic ultrasound vendor Misonix reported revenue increases in its first quarter of 2013 due to increased sales of its BoneScalpel, SonicOne, and SonaStar products.
Total revenue for the first quarter of fiscal 2013 (end-September 30) increased 42% to $4.6 million, compared with $3.2 million in the comparable quarter of 2012. Compared to 2012, in the first quarter of 2013 Misonix's BoneScalpel revenue increased 220% ($2.1 million compared to $666,000), while its SonicOne revenue increased 97% ($501,000 compared to $254,000) and its SonaStar revenue increased 21% ($1.6 million compared to $1.3 million).
The company's net income for the quarter was $45,000, compared with a net loss of $884,000 in the first quarter of last year.
